A renderer that receives commands without replaying them — the command list is itself the output.
This is the renderer for a headless chart: a server render replays these commands onto its own surface (PNG, SVG), and a test asserts "what did it draw" without touching pixels. Since commands are plain data, it's safe to send what's received to a worker or serialize it.
A frame isn't visible before commit — the same contract as a canvas not changing the screen until commit. clear only discards what's piling up; it doesn't erase the last frame.
